Iota Symbol in Greek Alphabet

Iota (uppercase Ι, lowercase ι) is the ninth letter of the Greek alphabet, and it has a value of ten in the Greek numeral system. The Greek letter came from the letter Yodh (or yōd), which meant "hand" in Phoenician language. The letter also gave rise to the name of the letter J (jota) in Spanish and Portuguese alphabets. The lowercase iota is used in some programming languages, logic, mathematics, celestial mechanics etc.

The lowercase iota (ι) is used to represent the definite descriptor in logic, an array of consecutive integers in programming. The uppercase iota (Ι) is used to denote the identity matrix in linear algebra. There is also an expression like "not one iota" which means "Not even the smallest amount", "insignificant quantity" or "not even a bit". This greek letter is used to talk about something very small or tiny in the English language. It is also declared in Bible (Matthew 5:18): "For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished." In addition, the word "jot" which means "not at all", also comes from the Greek letter iota.
